About Me

Hello, I am May Q. Wong, a first generation Chinese Canadian author of non-fiction books, speaker, reader, and book reviewer.

I was born in Montreal, Quebec, on the traditional lands of the Kanien’kehá:ka and am fortunate to live in Victoria, British Columbia, on the traditional Lekwungen and WSANEC homelands.

I love textiles and enjoy creating useful and beautiful handknit and sewn items.

Art has always inspired me and I have recently been drawn to the challenges of watercolour painting.

Cooking, long walks, and practicing and teaching Kenpo Karate round out the main activities that nourish my body, mind, and spirit.

My husband of over 40 years and my family are my inspirations.

I created this website to share my favourite projects. No one starts by being an expert and I have no such claims. I learned by trying things out and developed the ones I most enjoyed. I hope this website is a source of inspiration to spark your creativity!
